Dune is an epic science fiction novel by Frank Herbert published in 1965. After Dune was accepted for publication it became a best seller. As well as an award-winning novel.
Today, Dune is a series of novels. You can get the Frank Herbert’s Dune Saga Collection: Books 1 – 6 Kindle Edition. Or a collection of the hardcover version of the first six original Dune book series.
In the book, the story is set in the distant future. It involves complex themes of politics, religion, ecology, and technology. Dune tells the story of Paul Atreides. His family accepts the stewardship of the desert planet Arrakis. This is the only known source of Melange – also called “the spice”. The spice allows prescience and is crucial to space travel. Control of Arrakis is a coveted – and dangerous – undertaking.
The book has been adapted into other media multiple times. Such as a 1984 film, a 2000 television miniseries, two video games, and a 2021 movie. The first adaptation of the book to film was on 14th December 1984.
A 3-hour long TV miniseries aired in February 2000 that had some success but still failed to woo its audience.
Then, 2021 saw the release of another adaptation of the movie Dune.
