When times are tough, couples tend to get on each other’s nerves. When you marry someone, who has a drinking problem, you are also married to the effects of alcoholism. If they’re not saying these things out loud, they’re showing it by example. They will drink during family dinners, holidays, parties, and other special occasions. Besides alcoholism, there are other forms of substance abuse. Substance abuse influences the attitudes of people, it makes them abusive and withdrawn. The complete effects of substance abuse lead to the disintegration of marriages.
